The Bee Project

Bees: Pollinators who transfer pollen and seeds from one flower to another, fertilizing the plant so it can bloom, grow and produce food. Cross-pollination helps at least 30 percent of the world's crops and 90 percent of our wild plants to thrive. Without bees to spread seeds, many plants—including food crops—would die off.

The Bee Project is simple.
  • Donate to the fund and read stories of how your money helps kids and workers in Story and Polk County
  • When a foster family gets a new placement and needs a certain size of clothes, a car seat, a crib, socks and toothbrushes- I meet them with gift card to hustle and grab the items.  This eliminates them going to look for one, asking for help from friends and foster care support groups- this is often time we dont have when getting a placement.  Sometimes we also have a boy bed ready and realize we are getting a girl so are scrambling to switch out some pillows fast or figure out when you are going to tell your current kiddos someone is coming to stay. I want to make things easier
  • When a DHS worker removes a kiddo and they have zero. They have hours to kill while the hotline finds a placement. I want to equip that DHS worker with a gift card for McDonalds or a local store to go get some basic clothes.  MINUS the paperwork.
  • Imagine me taking you on a trip right now. You have nothing with you and you are going somewhere that doesn't have anything in your size. Same thing for a foster kiddo.  So the Bee Project is meant to help both sides of that equation.
  • Just like bees I want to help kids. Sprinkling a little here and a little there. It won't fix anything, but it will help.
